IPS (In-Plane-Switching) is TFT liquid crystal display driven by horizontal electric field method, which was developed by Hitachi in 1995. Since liquid crystal molecule turn in parallel with a glass substrate, there are a few colour changed by a direction.
LCDs with IPS technology have noticeably better picture performance of minimum color distortion, higher color fidelity and fast response time, versus the leading competing technology.
